|---------------------------------------------------------------------|
This is the main melody.
It should be played in this way:
a) Fripp and Belew play parts A1-B2 together, but in circulation:
1st note is played by Belew, Fripp plays the second note etc.
b) Belew plays A1 (all notes) while Fripp plays A1 a third (4 frets) higher
c) Belew plays A2. Fripp plays A2, again three tones higher - but:
He (Fripp) begins an eighth note later, but the last two notes
are played together with Belew, so the 15th note is shorter
   (it's an eighth note):
x = eighth notes
Fripp
 x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x
|------------------------------------------------------------|
|---10----------------12----------10----------------14-------|
|---------13----------------15----------13----------------11-|
|---------------14----------------------------14-------------|
|------------------------------------------------------------|
|------------------------------------------------------------|
Fripp
 x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x
|---------------------11-------13----------------------------|
|---10----------------------12-------14----------------------|
|---------13-------------------------------------------------|
|---------------14-------------------------------------------|
|------------------------------------------------------------|
|------------------------------------------------------------|
d) Belew plays B1 while Fripp plays this:
Fripp
|------------------------------------------------------------|
|7--------9-----7--------6-----7--------9-----7--------------|
|---7--------9-----7--------9-----7--------9-----6-----------|
|------11-------------11-------------11----------------------|
|------------------------------------------------------------|
|------------------------------------------------------------|
e) Belew plays B2 and Fripp uses the delay trick again:
x = eighth notes
Fripp
 x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x
|------------------------------------------------------------|
|---7-----------------9-----------7-----------------6--------|

|------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
|---7-----------------9--------11----------------------------------------------|
|---------7-----------------9--------10----------------------------------------|
|---------------11-------------------------------------------------------------|
|------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
|------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
f) And finally:

|---3--6--7--------------7--6--3--------------------------------------------------------------------|
|7--------------------------------7--6--3-----------------------------------------------------------|
|------------------------------------------7--6--3--0-----------------------------------------------|
|---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
So, play T1-T9 (without T5b)
Then T1-T4 one string (5 tones) higher
T5b, T6, again a fifth higher
T7-T9 seven frets (I wouldn't say one string) higher
(Play the last note of this version of T9 on the lowest string, 14th fret)
Part T1 again, starting in Db: |-This is not a mistake (at least not
                                                             | my mistake :-), Robert really plays
                                                             | this note instead of the usual one,
                                                             | which is one tone higher.
|------------------------------------------------------------|-----------------------------|
|------------------------------------------------------------|-----------------------------|
|------------2--4--------2--------4--------5-----------------2--------2--------2--------4--|
|---3--5--6--------3--5-----5--6-----5--6--------2--3--5--6-----3--5-----5--6-----5--6-----|
|6--------------------------------------------6--------------------------------------------|
|------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Then part T2 in the same position as the previous one:
|------------------------|
|------------------------|
|------------2--4--------| etc.
|---3--5--6--------3--5--|
|6-----------------------|
|------------------------|
And T3+T4, six tones (1 string + 2 frets) higher
Parts T7 and T8, 16th fret:
                                     |-For a change, it seems that Robert plays
                                     | this note this time (17 instead of 16). Why?
|------------------------------------|-----------------------------------|
|------------12-15-14----13----12----|-----------12-14-13----12----------|

|------------12-15-14----13----12----|
|---12-15-16----------16----16----15-|

Then again the basic parts T3 and T4
