I did an interview with BootlegTV this evening after dinner. I was quite brutal with my impressions of the current tour. More brutal than I will probably wish I had been, when I go back see the footage. I was very cranky all afternoon. And for no particularly good reason. I thought of telling them that we should do the interview another time, but..........

I can't say that I enjoyed tonight's show. It started out great and things were really smoking. Some pieces connected with the audience right from the start. The ConstruKCtion of Light was one of these. As soon as we began it you feel everyone being sucked right in.

But, somewhere around Dinosaur or Vrooom we lost it. I don't know what happened with Dinosaur, but the tempo just felt completely wrong. The second group of Projekct X improvs never gelled to my ears. And Cage was a complete train wreck, although fun to play. At one point I couldn't hear the time at all. So I just stopped. At least this is one piece where the bass CAN stop and the music will keep flowing.

And again, when we hit Larks' IV I just felt that the audience was no longer with us. The sheer number of yawns I saw. And the tired faces. And the complete wall of sonic assault that we where throwing at them had only just begun. Perhaps we need to move this piece to a different point in the set.
