Our best show so far. At least in Japan and possibly within this band's life. Good sound in the hall, decent sound on-stage. Good set-list. Good playing and good audience.

Adrian's voice has been suffering the last three days (bronchitis), so we've been taking it easy with the vocal tunes and have arranged the sets accordingly. Tonight we dropped quite a few pieces and added some extra improvs. And so ProjeKCt D was born, with just Adrian and Pat 'moody-ing' away on percussion together. I didn't play a note during this and Robert joined in only at the very end to transit out into the next piece. As I was standing there with my baritone guitar poised are ready for Kind-a-Sore assault, I realized that I don't sit out of hardly anything in the show. And I think of myself as the master of restraint! Yet, I never stop playing. Well, well, well... we might have to rectify that!

Anyway, Adrian's voice should be fine by the time we get to San Francisco. That means we'll be able to return to just doing the same set each night, minus the improvs.

During Thrush I shifted my end solo sound to something new. I pulled out the Smokey Amp and went for a long sustained/feedback solo. My level was so much quieter then I was used to but I think it worked really well. Robert seemed to change something in the final chord sequence and I couldn't say exactly what it was. However, it was great!

I had dream the other night that I was being operated on against my will. I can remember being sort of held down by a team of doctors while they prepared to do some surgery on my right (yikes!) groin. I don't remember how it all ended up. I think it turned out OK, but I can't be too sure. I did however check to see if there were any marks on my flesh when I woke up. I appeared unscathed.

When I mentioned this to Adrian and Pat they both immediately shouted "Abduction! You've been alien abducted and probed!"
